Quattro Part: Outside the stanza 412
When I arrived at the door, I felt the laughter.
Risate scortese.
It was not that there was laughter that Lily once again offered when she was close to the rassicurare gli altri.
It was a laughta piena, senza fiato, incontrollabile.
It was the dream of a race that was dimenticava, even only for an attimo, that it was in a hospital.
Diane did die at all.
His hand was appoggiata sulla maniglia.
Per diversi secondi, nessuno dei due parlò.
“Quella è Lily,” I whispered.
Diane annuì.
I lacrime gli si accumularono negli occhi.
“I don’t feel the first diagnosis.”
“What has Aaron done?”
Diane deglutì.
“I thought this rese pubblica la sua malattia. I thought birds were invited to the person who would find it.”
“E ora?”
Sentì un’altra risata.
“Now I’m not sure.”
I gently placed my hand on his shoulder.
“Maybe I’m not turning it into a spectacle, Diane.”
She looked at me.
“It may be reminding her that she still belongs to the world outside this room.”
Il suo volto si aggrottò.
“Credo di averlo capito ora.”
Spinse la porta.
Part Cinque: Cosa Ha Fatto Mio Figlio
Aaron did look at Lily’s bed.
Ridevano sewed so much that Lily had a hand appoggiata sulla pancia. A bright sciarpa covers part of the head, but some of the sciolte riposavano sul cuscino.
Aaron’s head was completely clear.
Ma non era più l’unico.
Dietro di lui was almost every football squad.
Alcuni avevano cuoi capelluti lisci e ben pettinati. A baby has an anchor with a sottile striscia of capelli sull’orecchio that all indicate and face ridere.
For a moment, you can just look at it.
Nurse Maria answered the phone.
“I will save the registration,” he said.
Mi has shown a video recorded shortly after.
One next time, the ragazzi entered Lily’s stanza with her cappelli.
Aaron did look at his bed and said: “My life was that I sowed outside without capelli, so that I could carry the person who could farm my crops normally.”
The first friend of the class does have the cappello.
Poi un altro.
And one more.
Lily’s eyes widened with each revelation.
By the time Coach Daniels came in and made a dramatic bow, she had already turned so sick that she was crying.
In the video, Aaron never asked for applause.
He never gave a speech.
He simply stood beside Lily, smiling as one person after another showed her that she was surrounded.
I turned to face him.
“Did you organize all of this?”
Her cheeks turned red.
“I started asking people a couple of weeks ago.”
A couple of weeks?
He nodded.
“I knew Lily was going to lose her hair, and I didn’t want her to feel like everyone was staring at her because she was different.”
He gestured towards his teammates.
“Everyone agreed. They said I had to go first.”
One of the boys laughed.
“We needed proof that he was serious.”
Aaron smiled.
“So I went first.”
Lily reached out to him.
“He wouldn’t tell me anything,” she said. “He just said he had a surprise.”
Her voice was still weak, but her eyes shone.
For the first time in months, the hospital room did not seem like a place defined by illness.
He felt alive.
I looked at Diane.
His arms had fallen to his sides.
Tears streamed silently down her face.
“I couldn’t explain it to you over the phone,” she said. “I was trying to say, ‘You have to see what your son did,’ but every time I said it, I didn’t know if I was angry or grateful.”
I approached.
“Now you know.”
She nodded as she watched Lily laugh with the team.
“I’ve been so jealous of him,” she whispered. “I sit next to him and I feel useless.” Then Aaron walks through the door and she’s back to herself.
I hugged my friend.
For several moments, she resisted.
Then her body relaxed and she began to sob against my shoulder.
“We’re not competing for her love,” I murmured. “You’re her mother. Nothing can replace that.”
“I feel like I’m letting him down.”
“You’re not failing. You’re carrying a responsibility that no parent should have to bear.”
She clung on tighter.
“Non so come si fa.”
“Neanch’io,” ammisi. Ma non devi farlo da solo.
Dietro di noi, Lily urlò: “Mamma?”
Diane quickly found out and returned.
Lily put her hand.
“Vieni qui. Devi vedere l’allenatore Daniels senza il suo cappello.”
Diane rise tra le lacrime.
Attraversò la stanza e si sedette accanto a sua figlia.
Aaron did rise for the last few days.
Mentre si avvicinava, gli toccai il braccio.
“Hai fatto tutto questo senza telling me.”
“I thought I might be worried.”
“Yes, but worried.”
Fece una smorfia.
“My displeasure.”
“Ma non credo di essere mai stato così orgoglioso di te.”
Lanciò un’occhiata alla stanza affollata.
“Non l’ho fatto da solo.”
“No,” he said. There is information about your startup process.
